About the role:
We are seeking a reliable Remote Site Cook / General Hand to join a small team servicing regional campsites. This role is hands‑on and varied, involving meal preparation, cleaning, general camp support, and providing day‑to‑day guidance to other general hands.
What you’ll do:
- Prepare and cook meals in line with approved menus and dietary requirement
- Maintain food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards
- Assist with cleaning, food service, and general camp duties as required
- Provide leadership and support to general hands
- Perform relief duties and assist across camp services
- Drive staff and transport products between sites as required
- Oversee staff and guest accommodation standards
- Comply with all HSE policies, procedures, and reporting requirements
Qualifications:
- Cert III in commercial cookery (desirable) or relevant qualification
- Previous experience in FIFO or DIDO (is required)
Selection Criteria:
- Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor environment.
- Excellent culinary skills with a passion for creating delicious meals.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong written English skills
- National Police Clearance (within 6 months)
- Unrestricted Australian Working Rights
