Description:
The Manager, Transport at ARAR Group leads and oversees the entire transport operations, ensuring efficient fleet management and compliance with transportation regulations. This role requires direct management of a team of 15 personnel and involves coordinating with various departments to optimize route planning and control transportation costs. The Manager is responsible for implementing strategic initiatives to improve service quality and maintain operational efficiency while adhering to safety and environmental standards. A thorough understanding of solid waste management operations is highly preferred to align transport operations with the company’s sustainability goals. The position demands strong leadership and organizational skills to manage diverse functions such as driver supervision, vendor coordination, and budgeting. The Manager will oversee maintenance schedules, ensure transportation compliance, and negotiate contracts with vendors to maximize cost-effectiveness. The ideal candidate has a minimum of four years of experience in transport or fleet management, preferably within the solid waste management sector, and holds a relevant educational background such as a DAE, Bachelor’s degree in Automobile or Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, or an equivalent qualification.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the deployment and utilization of all operational vehicles, including compactors, dumpers, loaders Ricksha, tractors, trolleys, pickups, and support vehicles.
- Prepare and implement daily vehicle deployment plans.
- To manage and control day-to-day affairs related to transport management.
- To handle and resolve all matters related to fleet management, including rental vehicles and vendor management.
- To manage and control fueling operations.
- Investigate abnormal fuel usage and mileage variations.
- Maintain fuel records and prepare daily, weekly & monthly fuel analysis reports.
- To manage and control repair and maintenance (R&M) of the fleet.
- To ensure threshold compliance of all operational vehicles.
- To supervise driver management and address all issues related thereto.
- To ensure a minimum of 4 hours of field presence on a daily basis.
- To manage and supervise the maintenance of infrastructure, including all TCPs and waste enclosures.
- Any other task as assigned by the Management.
