Description:
Streetwriters Private Limited is building Notesnook, a private, end-to-end encrypted note-taking app focused on user privacy and data security. The product is designed for individuals and teams who want a seamless, secure way to capture and organize their ideas. As a growing technology company, Streetwriters emphasizes a remote-first culture, flexibility, and impact-driven work. Team members collaborate to improve the product, enhance the user experience, and expand Notesnook’s presence in global markets.
Role Description
We have built a B2C SaaS product that people love, and our marketing engine is working. Every single day, a steady stream of active users discovers us through organic traffic and signs up for our free trial.
Up until now, the founder has been handling sales. But to scale, we need a dedicated closer. As our first Sales Specialist, you won't be cold-calling bought lists or spamming people on LinkedIn. Instead, your entire mission is to step into a warm, active pipeline, identify our highest-intent trial users, and guide them across the finish line into premium subscriptions.
What you will do:
Because you are the very first sales hire, your day-to-day will be a mix of execution and experimentation.
-
Run the Inbound Playbook: You will review daily sign-ups, prioritize users based on how they are interacting with our app, and proactively reach out via phone, email, or video demo.
-
Close Deals with High Velocity: B2C SaaS moves fast. You will handle short sales cycles, answering objections quickly and closing multiple accounts weekly.
-
Build the Infrastructure: You will work side-by-side with the founder to test different pitch scripts, optimize our pricing tiers, and figure out exactly when a trial user is ripe for a sales call.
-
Be the Feedback Loop: You will be closer to our customers than anyone else. You'll translate their complaints, feature requests, and aha-moments directly back to the founder to help improve the product.
What this role is NOT:
We want to set you up for success, which means being completely honest about what this job isn't:
-
This is not a corporate job with a safety net. There is no 2-month training manual or massive sales enablement team. You will be building the plane while flying it.
-
This is not a passive order-taking role. Even though the traffic is organic, "warm" doesn't mean "automatic." You still have to pick up the phone, chase down leads, handle rejections, and actively ask for the credit card.
-
This is not a management role (yet). You will be an individual contributor on the front lines. You must love the thrill of the individual close before you can lead a team.
Who this is for:
-
The Startup Mindset: You thrive in ambiguity. If a process is broken, you don't wait for someone to fix it; you build a temporary solution and keep moving.
-
High-Velocity Experience: You have 1–3 years of experience in sales, ideally in tech, SaaS, or a digital consumer product. You are energized by short sales cycles and closing high volumes of deals.
-
Product-Curious: You genuinely enjoy software. You can log into a user dashboard, see how a trial user is using our tool, and intuitively understand their pain points before you even get them on a call.
-
Clarity over Jargon: You speak like a human. You know how to explain technical value to everyday consumers without sounding like a corporate robot.
