Role overview:
Manage carrier relationships and coordinate international road freight movements between Pakistan gateways and European partners. Ensure timely, compliant transportation of cargo, accurate documentation, and competitive commercial terms.
Key responsibilities:
- Source, evaluate, and contract reliable carriers for cross-border and European road freight shipments.
- Negotiate freight rates, transit times, and terms with carriers and forwarders.
- Coordinate booking, route planning, and shipment tracking from origin to destination, ensuring on-time delivery.
- Prepare and review shipping documentation, customs paperwork, and regulatory compliance records (e.g., CMR, bills of lading).
- Serve as primary point of contact for shippers and carriers; provide shipment updates and resolve issues or delays.
- Monitor carrier performance, maintain a carrier database, and onboard new partner carriers.
What we’re looking for
Must-have:
- Practical experience in freight brokerage, international logistics, or road freight operations with exposure to Europe-bound shipments.
- Strong negotiation skills for rate and capacity sourcing.
- Understanding of international shipping documentation (CMR, bills of lading, commercial invoice) and basic customs clearance procedures.
- Familiarity with route planning, transit time estimation, and cargo tracking tools; ability to manage exceptions.
- Commercial acumen for calculating landed cost, margins, and preparing freight quotations.
- Excellent communication in English; ability to liaise with European partners and local carriers.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Excel for rate sheets/analysis).
Preferred:
- Willingness to learn TMS or freight management platforms.
- Organizational skills to manage multiple shipments, documentation deadlines, and carrier paperwork.
