Introduction
The Outreach and Research Programme of the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health has ten community-based field sites across Pakistan including four in Karachi and focuses on research for betterment of women and child health. The Department has a Nutritional Research Laboratory as well as an Infectious Disease Research Laboratory that cater to the needs of its research projects. It has well-acclaimed work to its credit both at the national and international level.

Responsibilities
You will be responsible to supervise and monitor the research activities including data collection as well as maintain necessary records, create and sustain liaison with the relevant stakeholders for the smooth implementation of all necessary activities of the project. Specific responsibilities include to:
- supervising all project-related activities from field management to data collection and quality control
- supervising field teams and ensuring adherence to study protocols
- monitoring data collection in the field and ensuring accuracy and completeness
- maintaining logs of participant enrolments and follow-ups
- coordinating with project supervisors regarding field-related activities
- providing training to study staff in line with study protocols and guidelines
- overseeing day-to-day research operations to ensure smooth project implementation
- ensuring all research-related auditable materials are complete and up to date
- monitoring all project components in the field for data accuracy and protocol compliance
- translating and transcribing research data from Urdu to English
- preparing and submitting weekly project reports
- performing any other task assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
You should have:
- at least a Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Social Sciences; MSc in Epidemiology or Biostatistics will be preferred
- fresh graduates or candidates with some relevant research experience
- strong communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to work effectively as part of a research team
- good report writing skills
- basic knowledge of surveys and other research designs
- experience with data collection, analysis, and interpretation including biostatistics
- comfort working in challenging field-based environments
- proven mixed methods research skills
- strong people management skills in field settings
- command of R Studio and proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- integrity and strong research ethics
- excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
