About the Role

You will be the lead electrical engineer responsible for the design, documentation, and site oversight of power distribution systems across Dobu's building projects — spanning AC 220V and 380V LV systems and medium-voltage distribution at 10kV and 11kV. Working closely with project managers, utility authorities, contractors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams, you will ensure all electrical works are delivered safely, on schedule, to specification, and in full compliance with applicable standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and engineering of building power distribution systems covering LV (220V / 380V) and MV (10kV / 11kV) works.
  • Produce and review electrical drawings, single-line diagrams (SLD), substation layouts, load schedules, and cable schedules using AutoCAD Electrical and Revit MEP.
  • Oversee and coordinate on-site electrical installation, testing, and commissioning works performed by contractors and subcontractors.
  • Conduct site inspections, witness testing and commissioning (FAT and SAT), and verify compliance with approved designs and standards.
  • Review and approve contractor shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements.
  • Prepare and review electrical specifications, scope of works, and BOQ (Bill of Quantities) documents.
  • Perform or review system studies, including load flow analysis, short-circuit calculations, cable sizing, voltage drop analysis, and earthing system design.
  • Liaise with utility authorities for MV connection approvals, metering arrangements, and supply agreements
  • Ensure all electrical works comply with applicable national and international codes and standards (IEC 60364, IEC 62271, or local equivalents)
  • Coordinate with LV, mechanical, civil, and IT/low-voltage disciplines to ensure integrated building services delivery.
  • Manage electrical safety procedures on site, including Permit-to-Work (PTW), isolation, and earthing protocols.
  • Support project handover, including as-built drawings, O&M manuals, protection settings records, and client training.

Competitive senior level salary package /negotiable

What we're looking for

General

  • 5+ years of professional experience in building electrical engineering and site works
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • Proven hands-on experience delivering power distribution systems on commercial, residential, or mixed-use building projects
  • Strong knowledge of electrical system design from utility intake through MV/LV transformation to final distribution
  • Solid understanding of electrical safety regulations, switching procedures, and construction site safety management
  • Experience working on active construction sites in a lead or supervisory engineering capacity

Design Tools

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical for drawing production, SLD preparation, and electrical documentation
  • Proficiency in Revit MEP for BIM-based electrical design and coordination of substation and plant room layouts
  • Experience managing coordinated MEP models and resolving clashes in electrical plant room environments

Power Distribution Systems

- Hands-on experience designing and overseeing the following electrical works:

  • AC 220V single-phase distribution — final circuits, DB layouts, sockets, and lighting circuits
  • AC 380V three-phase LV distribution — MDB, DB, SMDB layouts, motor circuits, and power outlets
  • 10kV / 11kV medium voltage switchgear, ring main units (RMU), and MV/LV transformer substations
  • MV and LV underground and overhead cable systems — design, routing, installation, jointing, and termination
  • Protection systems — overcurrent, earth fault relays, and MV protection coordination
  • Earthing, bonding, and lightning protection systems
  • Standby and emergency power systems — generators, ATS, and UPS
  • Power factor correction and metering systems

- Experience in preparing electrical load calculations, cable sizing, and voltage drop analysis across all voltage levels

- Familiarity with authority submission processes, utility connection applications, and obtaining electrical permits

    Soft Skills

    • Strong on-site leadership with the ability to manage and coordinate multiple contractors simultaneously
    • Excellent communication skills for engaging with utility authorities, project managers, and clients
    • Detail-oriented with a disciplined approach to drawing quality, documentation accuracy, and protection coordination
    • Proactive in identifying site issues and resolving them before they impact the project program or safety
    • Calm and composed under pressure — electrical distribution works demand precision and strict safety discipline

    Nice to Have

    • Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent local registration
    • Authorized Person (AP) certification for MV switching operations
    • Familiarity with ETAP or DIALux for power system and lighting analysis
    • Experience with Building Management System (BMS) or Building Energy Management System (BEMS) integration
    • Exposure to smart building technologies, including KNX or DALI lighting control
    • Experience in large-scale commercial, hospitality, industrial, or mixed-use developments
    • Background in renewable energy integration (solar PV, battery storage) at the LV/MV level
