At 2 Hour Learning, we have developed a model that enables students to learn at twice the speed in only two hours each day. This is achieved through AI tutors, mastery-based progression, and a fundamental shift away from traditional classroom design. The outcomes speak for themselves. We now need a leader who can align execution across varied school environments, elevate academic leadership standards, and serve as the public advocate for a movement rooted in credible learning science.
This role is not centered on academic theory. It is a leadership imperative. You will take ownership of academic strategy in execution, establish rigorous standards, surface gaps in performance, and develop high-performing teams to produce tangible results. You will convert our scientific principles into operational rigor and champion this model on a global stage.

What You Will Be Doing

• Developing academic frameworks that convert learning science into actionable direction for curriculum design, motivational systems, and app functionality.
• Conducting academic execution reviews with Heads of Academics to confirm that school teams remain aligned, accountable, and results-driven.
• Integrating data, stakeholder interviews, and direct observation into comprehensive academic ecosystem assessments that identify the most impactful obstacles to accelerated learning and recommend concrete interventions.
• Ensuring strategic coherence through structured planning, continuous feedback, and milestone management to sustain focus on student learning objectives.
• Serving as the external representative of 2 Hour Learning in high-profile settings—from keynote presentations to engagements with Ministries of Education—to influence global perspectives on education systems.

• Working on isolated curriculum initiatives that fail to produce systemic impact.
• Producing theoretical research disconnected from student outcomes or implementation.
• Passing performance accountability to mid-level managers or external advisors.
• Depending on reputation or abstract theory to win over critical audiences.

Director Of Academic Excellence Key Responsibilities

Expand and strengthen 2 Hour Learning's validated academic model by aligning execution across school sites, raising leadership expectations, and embodying the public voice of a movement built on rigorous science and demonstrated outcomes.

Basic Requirements

• Advanced degree (Masters or Ph.D) in Learning Science, Educational Psychology, Instructional Design, or a related field
• At least 7 years in academic or EdTech leadership roles, leading a team of staff/employees (not an informal peer leader role, such as grade-level lead); you must have been responsible for hiring, monitoring performance, coaching, and making termination decisions
• Experience driving learning outcomes for students and upholding student performance standards
• Experience applying AI or emerging technologies to improve education, such as through personalized learning, adaptive learning, AI agents, etc.
• Experience managing academic teams of 50+ people (e.g., the teams you managed directly executed curriculum, instruction, or assessment)
• Experience interacting directly with students, teachers, or school leaders in a professional setting

Working with us

This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $200 USD/hour, which equates to $400,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
